“The Hydrogen Economy” launched at 1st FCH Stakeholders Dinner
30/10/2009
On 27 November, Michael Ball (Shell, CO2 Advisor) and Martin Wietschel (Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research, Karlsruhe, Germany) launched their recent book “The Hydrogen Society” at the Stakeholders Dinner organised by the NEW-IG.
From the book:
“In the light of ever-increasing global energy use, the rising cost of energy services, concerns over energy supply security, climate change and local air pollution, this book centres on the question of how growing energy demand for transport can be met in the long term. Given the sustained interest in and controversial discussions on the prospects of hydrogen, this book highlights the opportunities and challenges of introducing hydrogen as an alternative fuel in the transport sector from an economic, technical and environmental point of view.
Through its multidisciplinary approach, the book provides a brad range of researchers, decision makers and policy makers with a solid and wide-ranging knowledge base concerning the hydrogen economy. The geographical scope of the book is global.”
